Volunteer Opportunities

Learn from your community, give to your community, and belong to your community! Become an AmeriCorps member with Project SHINE at BPSOS. SHINE is a national program located at Temple University that creates intergenerational relationships with immigrant and refugee communities through English and citizenship tutoring. BPSOS is looking for volunteers to tutoring English and computer classes in Philadelphia.  AmeriCorps members serve 9-10 hours a week for 8 months (October 2010-June 2011) in health literacy and healthy living activities. AmeriCorps members receive a stipend of $1,500 and an education award of $1,132.
