Our staff is here to help you! BPSOS-Delaware Valley full- and part-time staff and volunteers work in both our Philadelphia and South Jersey offices to serve you where you live.

Please click on the links below for detailed descriptions of our programs and services. Our programs and services are designed to nurture:

Healthy Families - Families are the bedrock of our community, and we place high priority on strengthening yours through a range of programs, including:

  • Assistance to Refugees Couples - Information & Training Center (ARC-ITC): ARC-ITC produces multi-media training materials and interactive radio and television talk shows that are broadcasted both locally and nationally, and available on our media webpage: machsongmedia.com. Our main focus is to provide family wellness education and help refugee couples develop healthy communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Asian Youth Empowerment Project (AYEP) : Philadelphia and South Jersey offices offer various programs during the school year and summer season focused on high-school aged youth and young youth (elementary and middle school aged) including, Anti-School Violence Initiative, afterschool tutorial, our Summer Youth Career Exploration Program and numerous short-term community service opportunities for Southeast Asian youth. Please visit our site frequently for updates on programs

  • Citizenship Initiative in Vietnamese Immigrant Communities (CIVIC): Our new CIVIC program seeks to support eligible Vietnamese community members, and other legal permanent residents, through the citizenship process so that they will recieve the benfits of citizenship including increased acess to educational and employment opportunities, engage to a greater degree both politically and socially, will be less at risk for deportation, and will be able to reunify with family members. Our CIVIC program offers community members citizenship classes, N-400 application service, and support through the citizenship process

  • Health Awareness and Prevention Program (HAPP) : We believe that you and your family should be able to access decent, affordable healthcare and health information. However, we know that it’s not always easy for Vietnamese-Americans to access health information and services. To bridge that gap, our Health Awareness and Prevention (HAPP) Program has taken on the challenge of informing and empowering you to take health prevention into your own hands and become health advocates in the community. With the support of local Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliates, health clinics and practitioners, we are specifically working to tackle the issue of breast cancer, cervical cancer among Vietnamese women by reducing barriers to breast care

  • Road to Independence & Success through Education (RISE):  Unemployment is one of the toughest issues for the US today--but it is especially difficult for immigrants and refugees, who not only face language barriers, but have to relearn a whole system of cultural employment etiquette to ensure their success in the job market. We offer a variety of services for immigrants and refugees to assist in thier job search activities, primarily basic and conversation ESL tutorial classes and basic and topic-based computer literacy classes.

  • Service Center: The center provides low-income families and individuals with immigration and family reunification needs with translation and application assistance.

Strong Communities - Both the Philadelphia and Camden offices of BPSOS-Delaware Valley host various community workshops and provide free meeting and work space for community organizers and self-help groups.
