BPSOS participated in White House Briefing on H1N1 Flu Pandemic
Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:16

On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, in response to requests for help from the Obama Administration to communicate to the at-risk communities -communities that haven’t been vaccinated at an ideal rate, BPSOS joined over 30 ethnic community and medical organizations at a White House Briefing on H1N1 Flu virus and the availability of vaccine.

On the same day, BPSOS's National Program Manager of Health Awareness and Prevention, also participated in a phone conference with HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and White House's Office of Health Reform officials on the same issue - clarifying outstanding questions and discussing next steps for local outreach and awareness of the safe, effective and available vaccine.

As one of a few Asian Pacific American community voices and the only Vietnamese American community organization at the table addressing an urgent and vital public health issue, BPSOS remains steadfast in promoting public awareness and education about the H1N1 flu virus & vaccination to Vietnamese Americans and the at-large community.
