11.19.2009 | Houston, Texas: BPSOS' "A Time To Write" Story Contest Honors Twelve Students For Houston Citizenship Week. 


11.17.2009 | Falls Church, Virginia: BPSOS participated in a White House Briefing and phone conference with HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius about the H1N1 flu pandemic. 


11.05.2009 | Houston, Texas: The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approved new rules allowing the culture and sale of water spinach by permit in Texas.


10.21.2009 | Houston, Texas: BPSOS held two press conferences to discuss the proposed water spinach regulation.


10.15.2009 | Houston, Texas: BPSOS-Houston partnered with Mayor Bill White's Office to sponsor City of Houston’s Inaugural Citizenship Week from November 16-20th, 2009. 

A citywide story contest is currently open to all students grades 4-12 in the Greater Houston Area.  Deadline for essay submissions is 5pm, November 13, 2009. Download application here.


10.03.2009 | Delaware Valley: BPSOS-Delaware Valley brought Project PorchLight to the Vietnamese Moon Festival to educate community members, especially Vietnamese American children, about the energy savings. 


10.03.2009 | Atlanta, Georgia: BPSOS-Atlanta Community Health Fair served more than 150 community members.


9.17.209 | Houston, Texas: BPSOS Houston sponsored the film screening of “A Village Called Versailles,” a powerful documentary highlighting New Orleans East's Vietnamese Americans' struggle to return and rebuild their community after Katrina.
