Addressing the scarcity of data regarding the demographics of the Vietnamese American community, BPSOS has launched a new initiative to consolidate research information, develop a database of Vietnamese American researchers, as well as conduct research into the issues, values, attitudes and beliefs that affect and make up the Vietnamese immigrant, refugee and asylee community in America. With 17 office locations throughout the U.S. and internationally, large and well developed grassroots network of supporters and partners, and a comprehensive media component, BPSOS is uniquely positioned to capture data from urban, rural and suburban communities. Additionally, BPSOS has demonstrated program competencies in a diverse range of subjects, including human trafficking, health awareness, domestic violence, torture survivors, immigration and community development. Since its creation in 1980, BPSOS has grown along with, and in many ways spearheaded, the development of the national Vietnamese American community. Combining this inspiring history with almost 30 years of service delivery, BPSOS has the unique ability to analyze the data and develop meaningful policy and program recommendations. BPSOS welcomes opportunities to collaborate with outside researchers with data collection and analysis. Some recent successful collaborative research projects include:
