Grants Management Intern (Falls Church, VA)

Boat People SOS (BPSOS) is a national Vietnamese-American community-based organization with 32 years of service and 10 branch offices across the U.S. The Grants Management Intern will work with the Grants Manager on projects related to grants research, prospective funding research, grant writing, and data entry related to grants management. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in grant research and writing, funder relationship building, grant reporting, and data management, all critical components of Grants Management within a non-profit organization.

 

Salary: Unpaid; Eligible for Academic Credit

 

Responsibilities:

Job duties include:

  • Research of prospective grants/funding opportunities
  • Research related to specific grants
  • Writing projects as assigned by Grants Manager
  • Data collection and management as it relates to grants reporting
  • Document review of grant agreements for compliance
  • Other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in or have recently completed Bachelor's or Master level degree program. Strong associate's level candidates may be considered.
  • Writing and editing skills.
  • Online research skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Positive attitude, commitment, and enthusiasm is a must!

Requirements: 

 

1. Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work, or equivalent experience;

 

2. Strong communication skills and ability to write reports and develop training and  presentation materials;

3. Fluency in English including strong computer skills;

4. Good public speaking skills;

5. Must be willing to travel
