Why We Exist

According to the 2000 Census, the Vietnamese American population in Georgia was 29,016 (Atlanta accounts for 23,996, Gwinnett County 7,709, DeKalb 6,251, and Clayton 4,385).

Census 2000 data revealed that 47% of the Vietnamese in Atlanta spoke little or no English. This figure is much higher for refugees being in the US for less than ten years.

BPSOS-Atlanta was created to address this linguistic challenge and other critical needs of the Vietnamese community in Atlanta.
