Conference On Anti-Trafficking Activism Moblizes College Students

FALLS CHURCH, VA – Boat People SOS, in collaboration Project Hope International and American University’s Immigrant Rights Coalition, will host a one-day conference for college students entitled Slavery in the Modern World: Approaches to Combat Human Trafficking. Highlights from the conference include a keynote address from (keynote speaker, title/credentials) and workshops on (workshop topics).

The conference will take place Friday, April 16, 2004 from 9 am to 4pm at American University’s Washington College of Law, 4801 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, room 602.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants and guests.

The conference intends to raise community members’ awareness of trafficking and to promote on-campus activism among local college and university students. In addition to the DC metro area, Boat People SOS also assists trafficking victims in Philadelphia and Orange County, CA as part of a collaborative project.
