Development Coordinator
Boat People SOS, Inc. (BPSOS), a national Vietnamese-American community-based organization with 14 branch offices nationwide, is looking for a Development Coordinator that can perform the vital role of developing financial and otherwise valuable resources which will support BPSOS’ mission, goals, and objectives; and that will be instrumental in providing proactive, long-range strategies that will enhance the organizations financial strength and sustainability. The Development Coordinator will be based out of BPSOS’ Houston branch office and will join a team that recently won the 2007 World Proposal Championships for excellence in grantwriting.
Responsibilities1. Assist Development Manager, Department Directors and Program Managers in identifying appropriate funding priorities, strategies, and sources; 2. Cultivate relationships with actual and prospective funding sources; 3. Develop proposals and write grants as needed; 4. Assist in maintenance of Grant Management Calendar and other fund development and databases; 5. Assist in maintenance of library of all submitted proposals, including reviewers’ notes or pertinent information of prospective proposals; and 6. Perform other duties as required to fulfill the mission of the organization. Qualifications1. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; 2. Excellent writing skills; 3. Excellent self-organization and self-discipline; 4. Ability to analyze a variety of information; 5. Ability to multi-task; 6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, Access and email; and 7. Team player and works well with all staff members, possessing good oral or written communication skills.
