After "two very fulfilling years" working on BPSOS' Asian Immigrant Youth Assistance Project as an "Equal Justice Works Fellow", Christine Nguyen will be leaving to join the Domestic Unit at Maryland Legal Aid Bureau as Staff Attorney. Below is a short recap of her service fellowship with us:

"The past two years has been an incredible journey. The Asian Immigrant Youth Assistance Project aimed to provide direct immigration legal services and resources to Asian immigrant youth who were victims of human trafficking; victims of crime; have been persecuted in their home countries; and who were abandoned, abused, and neglected. The project also ensured that there were adequate resources in schools for limited English proficient youth and their families.

Since the beginning of my fellowship in September 2009, I have provided direct immigration representation to over 40 immigrant youth and provided brief advice and consultations to over 70 Asian community members in the DC metro area. I have also worked with so many passionate and inspiring colleagues in the community.

Thank you for all of your support and guidance. The project would not have been a success without you."

Thank you for your service to the community and best wishes in all of your future endeavors, Christine!
