BPSOS’ legal team has helped me get my green card and my VAWA case has been approved. From the bottom of my heart, I thank BPSOS for all their work they have done to help me. I am finally free, because of them.

The lawyers at BPSOS helped me apply for my U-Visa, which I got and I am on the right track to get my green card. My [perpetrator is] currently serving their sentence in prison.

From Vietnam

The BPSOS legal team worked tirelessly to remove the conditions of my residency on my green card. I can now go where I want, when I want, without the permission of anyone. None of this would have been possible without BPSOS.

Our Programs

BPSOS Legal Department is operated by generous grant funding from our partners.

Crime Victims Civil Legal Services

Crime Victims Civil Legal Services program is funded by Texas Access to Justice Foundation. We strive to serve victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, assault, battery, and other crimes through compassion and diligence. Our services cover wide areas of law, including immigration and family law.

IOLTA program is funded by Texas Access to Justice Foundation. IOLTA program serves low-income individuals. We help our clients with obtaining immigration benefits and resolving many kinds of civil legal issues.

Our domestic violence and human trafficking grant strives to support, protect, and empower survivors of family violence and human trafficking through immigration benefits and family law.

Service Center

For individuals who do not qualify for free services through our grants, we offer civil legal assistance at a greatly reduced cost through our Service Center.

Immigration Resource Hotline

The Immigrant Resource Hotline is a source of timely and accurate information about changing immigration policies and a source for referrals to legal services providers and immigrant rights organizers. The hotline is staffed by non-profit staff – check out our partners, below!

The Hotline is a project of the Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative, Boat People SOS, BakerRipley, Catholic Charities Cabrini Center, Houston Galveston Immigrant Representation Project (GHIRP), and Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM).
