Vietnam: Government Violence Against Women

On January 15, 2015 officials from the Forest Inspector’s Office came to plant trees on a Hmong woman's farmland, claiming that her land belonged to the government. Due to her protests, the officials shocked her three times with an electric rod when she was pregnant.

On July 9, 2015 Ms. Khue-Tu Nguyen made a statement to the UN CEDAW Review Committee on behalf of Vietnamese Women for Human Rights prior to the official review of Vietnam on July 10.
